Privacy Policy

PrepItOut (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an exam mock-test preparation platform for students and aspirants in India, available on the web at PrepItOut.com and as the PrepItOut mobile app on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store (together, the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we store and protect it, and the rights you have over your data.

The Platform is built and operated in India by independent developer Sheshan Pradhan, Raigarh, Chhattisgarh 496001, India. We serve only users in India, and all data described below is stored on servers located in India. By using the Platform you agree to this Policy.

1. Data we collect

We collect only the minimum data needed to run the Platform:

• Name — provided by you at sign-up, used to personalise your account and support.
• Mobile number — used as your account identifier and for OTP-based login verification.
• Test activity — mock tests attempted, answers, scores and progress, so we can show your dashboard, analytics and leaderboards.
• Support messages — issues you raise through the help desk, including any screenshots you choose to attach.
• Payment references — when you buy a PRO subscription, our payment partner Razorpay processes the payment. We receive only a payment reference and subscription status — never your card, UPI or bank details.

We do not ask for your email address, date of birth, location, contacts, photos, files, or any government ID. The mobile app does not request any device permission except notifications (see §4).

2. Data collected automatically by third-party SDKs

The Platform uses Google Analytics and Google Firebase (including Authentication, Analytics and Crashlytics / crash reporting). These Google services automatically collect limited technical data such as device model, operating system version, app version, approximate region, usage events and crash logs. Whatever these SDKs collect is governed by Google's own privacy policy — we do not receive anything beyond what these services provide in their dashboards.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, do not sell your data, and do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

3. How we use your data

• Create and secure your account with OTP login.
• Deliver mock tests, track attempts and show your progress and analytics.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Send test-series and product updates via notification (only if you opt in).
• Detect misuse, prevent fraud and keep the Platform secure.
• Meet our legal obligations under Indian law.

4. Notifications permission (mobile app)

The mobile app asks for notification permission only, so we can inform you when new test series or important updates are added. Granting this permission is optional — the app works fully without it, and you can revoke it at any time from your device settings. We do not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, storage or any other device data.

5. Where your data is stored

We serve Indian students only, and all user data and servers are located in India. Your name, mobile number and test activity are stored on our servers in India. Technical data collected by Google Analytics / Firebase may be processed by Google on its own infrastructure subject to Google's policies.

6. Data sharing

We share data only where necessary to operate the Platform:

• OTP provider — your mobile number is used to send login OTPs.
• Razorpay — processes PRO subscription payments under its own privacy policy.
• Google (Analytics / Firebase) — as described in §2.
• Legal compliance — we may disclose data if required by Indian law, a court order, or a lawful request from an Indian government authority.

7. Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (see our Account & Data Deletion page), we delete your name, mobile number, test history and support messages from our servers within 30 days, except for records we must retain by law (for example, payment transaction references). Anonymised analytics that cannot identify you may be retained.

8. Children's privacy

PrepItOut is intended for exam aspirants. Users under 18 years of age may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent; if you believe a child has provided data without consent, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccuracies, withdraw consent, and request deletion of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in §11 or use the in-app / web account deletion flow. Withdrawing consent for essential data (mobile number) means you will no longer be able to use the account.

10. Security

We protect your data with OTP-based authentication, encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted server access, and storage limited to servers in India. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work to keep your data safe and will notify affected users of any material breach as required by law.

11. Grievance redressal & contact

We aim to respond within 2 business days and resolve grievances within 30 days, as expected under Indian law.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time (for example, when we add features). The “Last updated” date at the top will change, and material changes will be notified via the Platform or notification. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
